In October 2007, the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce selected the Graycote Inn as the first recipient of its Environmental Leader Award. In April 2006, the Graycote Inn became the first business on Mt. Desert Island to receive the Environmental Leader Certification from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
