A very special feature of our B&B is our ability to host small weddings. The front rooms of the B&B are spacious and there's a nice flow for entertaining. Our gardens are also an ideal spot for weddings. Guests choose either the lower garden or the courtyard where there is a large water garden. We have a separate domain to attract wedding requests.
Another special feature we offer is that we host retreats. We even have a special domain regarding Christian retreats.
Because of all the special attractions in Downtown Staunton, we have more requests that we can handle for B&B guests. Many of them are visiting to attend the Shakespeare theater, which is known worldwide! For this past year, we have been focusing on extended-stay corporate guests although we are also booking B&B guests and family vacation groups also. We offer them wonderful accommodations and we supply all the amenities.
Having a B&B which can offer corporate guests spacious and beautiful accommodations is quite an advantage. As an Innkeeper, it's also very nice since we feel they are well taken care of because we supply all the special touches they deserve.
The main inn and carriage house are together on one property and function as a typical B&B. Just around the corner is another building which houses our 2 very spacious and quite special SUITES. We can choose to book them as part of the B&B or offer them to extended-stay guests. In addition, we have 3 other houses which are our VACATION RENTAL HOUSES and they are ideal for our extended-stay corporate guests, girlfriend getaways, and family get-togethers.
We serve breakfast to our B&B guests (in the main inn, carriage house, and suites building). Our vacation rental houses operate in a different way. Having extended-stay guests in both our vacation rental houses and also one of our suites is an excellent income producing way to run the business.
All of the recent press about Staunton, VA is causing quite a stir. Recently Staunton was chosen to be the home of the world-famous Heifetz International Music Institute. This brings business into Downtown Staunton. We host some of the faculty in addition to guests coming into town for the concerts. In addition, we have the world's only historically correct re-creation of Shakespeare's indoor theater called The Blackfriars' Playhouse. This theater is a tremendous draw for Staunton. A huge percentage of our guests attend the theater. Many fine restaurants have opened because of the activity caused by the cultural opportunities in Staunton. And many of them offer venues for live entertainment! There are also 9 art galleries downtown and many shops and stores. There's even a FREE TROLLEY. Staunton, Virginia is truly a one-in-a-million little destination city . . . and the perfect place to run a B&B (because of all the interesting guests coming to see everything going on in Staunton). On the outskirts of town are wineries, caves, hiking/biking trails, the Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and many colleges surrounding our wonderful town.
