Oak Hill is one of the more significant downtown historic properties based on its high architectural finish, its exceptional architectural integrity, and its documented construction. All original interior millwork survives and includes significant mantel pieces,paneled doors, and well detailed features, some interesting original architectural features, including an original closet flanking the library mantel, second story closets under the eaves, and regionally unique sliding windows in the board partitions between the secon story hallway and flankin bedrooms. These windows were important in lighting the second story hallway and providing for cross ventilation. The original cypress floors are beautifully preserved throughout the house. The house is listed in the Natchez-on-Top-of-the-Hill Historic District.
